The Nomi Song - The Klaus Nomi Odyssey
Wonderful documentary about the New Wave countertenor who was one of the first well-known AIDS victims. Klaus Nomi was incredibly talented and oddly endearing (even people who went in thinking he was pretentious came out thinking he was very sweet-natured); he had serious musical training and an eerily beautiful operatic voice. This disc has a lot of supplementary material on it that's worth watching, from deleted scenes that help put the story in context with the rest of what was happening in post-punk NYC at the dawn of his career, to recipes for things that Klaus baked for friends when he was broke.
